bassline

Summary

 

BASSline is a jazz dance piece which takes inspiration from the prominent bass line within the music, with the sounds influencing the movement choices, rhythmic timing, and shapes in the dancers’ bodies. 

This high energy work is driven by musicality and rhythm, featuring 7 incredible dancers, set to music by Walter Lang Trio, Adam Ben Ezra and Matthew Halsall.

Presentation History

  • August 2022: World premiere presented by Rhythmically Speaking Dance (Minneapolis, MN)
  • November 2023: Excerpt performance presented by Carte Blanche Acadie (Moncton, NB)
  • December 2023: Excerpt performance presented by Connection Dance Works (Saint John, NB)
  • May 2023: Canadian premiere presented by Live Art Dance and Kinetic in Coastal Currents at Sir James Dunn Theatre (Halifax, NS)
